Serena and Venus Williams will face each other in the finals of Wimbledon for the fourth time. The sisters won the semi-finals in contrasting styles.
Serena reached her fifth final with a 6-7 (4/7), 7-5, 8-6 win over Elena Dementieva of Russia in the longest semifinal in the tournament's history.
The match lasted 2 hours 49 minutes.
But top seed and World No 1 Dinara Safina of Russia latter suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Venus Williams as the American sailed to an easy 6-1, 6-0 win in just 51 minutes.
This was the most one-sided women's semifinal in 40 years. Venus, who defeated Serena in the 2008 finals, will be playing in her eighth final at Wimbledon.
Two-time champion Serena praised Dementieva who lost in the semi-finals for the second year in succession.
