Priyanka Chopra 27th Birthday, Happy birth day Priyanka

She is one of Bollywood's leading actresses and turns 27 Saturday. But Priyanka Chopra says she is not a party animal and would like to just have a quiet birthday with her near and dear ones.

'I'm not a big party person and I don't like throwing parties at all. So this time a lot of my family members have decided to fly down to be with me,' Priyanka told IANS over e-mail from Mumbai.

'It's likely to be a day spent doing nothing in particular - just hanging out with the people who love me and want to be around me to make my day special. That's all,' she added.

Priyanka has had a fulfilling year with two hits 'Fashion' and 'Dostana', which fetched her lots of awards.

She is entering a new year in her life, but hasn't set any goals for herself.

'I've never set any goals for myself. I've always been destiny's child and destiny has always looked after me. I think someone up there always manages my life and does what's best for me. So I just leave it up to Him. I just work hard at what he sends my way,' she said.

Currently, Priyanka is busy shooting for Yash Raj Films' 'Pyaar Impossible' along with Uday Chopra and Dino Morea.

The actress is also looking forward to the release of Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Kaminey' with Shahid Kapoor and Ashutosh Gowariker's 'What's Your Rashee?' in which she plays 12 different roles.

Promoter wants Jacksons to sing at UK tribute gig

The company behind Michael Jackson's planned comeback in London that was to have kicked off on Monday said he wanted to stage a one-off tribute concert in the city featuring members of the late pop star's family.

AEG Live signed up the star for 50 concerts at London's O2 Arena starting on July 13, but the 50-year-old singer died in Los Angeles less than three weeks before his eagerly anticipated return to the stage.

More than 750,000 people snapped up tickets to the "This Is It" shows, and they have been given the choice of a full refund or keeping their tickets as a momento.

AEG Live chief executive Randy Phillips said on Tuesday he was hopeful of holding the tribute gig in London on Aug. 29, which would have been Jackson's 51st birthday, although time was running out.

"We have to make some hard decisions this week, otherwise it will be too late to even contemplate doing anything on the 29th," Phillips told BBC Radio 6 Music.

"The number one item I'm discussing is presenting This Is It the production, hopefully with the Jacksons and may be Janet, and other artists," Phillips added.

"What we're thinking about is one massive tribute that's broadcast around the globe. We've opted to go to broadcast television, either cable/satellite, or traditional broadcast."

He conceded that most of the 27 Jackson dates booked in 2009 at the O2 Arena would probably go unfilled. The remaining 23 dates were scheduled for early 2010.

"It's going to be hard, unless we do something with the Michael tribute, to fill those dates in now, if not impossible."

On Monday, Jackson's father Joe said the "King of Pop" was not ready to perform 50 shows in London, and that he had been worried about the impact the gigs would have on his son's health.

In a statement, Phillips said Jackson's adviser at the time told AEG Live that the singer would perform 50 concerts. Jackson was rehearsing for This Is It in Los Angeles the day before he died of cardiac arrest.

'Harry Potter': Your favorite Daniel Radcliffe talk show appearance?

The only thing bad about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opening Wednesday is that Daniel Radcliffe won't have a reason to hit the talk show circuit. I resisted him for as long as I could, then yesterday, binged on the following clips online. Which TV talk show appearance has been your favorite?

The reason this clip got embedded is because Daniel is at his most handsome in this purple button-down shirt -- and because the Today set and wand graphic/sound effect kill me. Also, he gets so excited talking about his ping pong skills and how he cheats at Monopoly.

When it comes to marriage, people either trust their parents and friends or simply follow their heart but Rakhi Sawant is relying on her fans to select her "Mr Right" in the reality TV show "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar". The actress, who is known for her item numbers in Bollywood, says her fans will play a crucial role in the all-important decision-making process.

"I started off as a nobody in the industry. But today, whatever I am, it is because of my fans and I want them to be a part of this important decision of my life.

Although I will take the final call, my fans and friends from the industry would be a constant guide for me to select the right person," Rakhi told PTI in an interview. Television viewers will also participate in NDTV Imagine''s reality show ''Rakhi ka Swayamvar'', where the actress goes on a groom-hunting mission.

The audience would get the opportunity to vote for or against the prospective 16 bridegrooms, who have been shortlisted from thousands of applicants. "My life has always been an open book.

Pink invites homeless kids to her Australian tour

Pop singer Pink recently showed off her generous side when she invited homeless kids to her concert and talked to them backstage.

During the 10th show in Sydney as part of her a long 58-date Australian tour, the singer invited students from Surry Hills'' independent high Key College school which caters for Sydney''s homeless and shared her experience with them.

"That was me. I wish I had something like that when I was a kid. I was kicked out of my house when I was 15. I was on drugs, the whole nine. I could have used a school like that," The Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

The pop star who wishes she inspires the kids had lots of fun too.

She said: "The kids are so tough and cool and it''s fun, I just hope they have a good time, maybe them seeing the show is a little kick in the a*** to show they can do whatever they want ''cos I was that kid."

Apparently, one student, Simon, 16 said that the pop star was the reason he was alive.

He said: "Pink was pretty much my salvation when I was growing up," singer. She gave me a way to escape all the problems that were happening around me. Her music gave me a way of building myself up. Pink''s music made me feel stronger inside," Simon said.

He had also dyed his hair pink and painted his fingernails to meet his idol.

The singer who had come to know about the school through The Sunday Telegraph''s Sunday magazine in May could relate herself to the children.

She explained: "That''s the stuff that hits you, that is where I was at. That is how I felt about Linda Perry and Janis Joplin, so here we are."

The school opened in 1996 with the initiative of Youth Off The Streets founder Father Chris Riley.

Love Aaj Kal is a family film

Imtiaz Ali openly admits that his upcoming "Love Aaj Kal", which stars Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, has unabashed kissing scenes and shows the lead actors mouthing expletives, but the director insists that it will still be a complete family entertainer.

The director says he has included the so-called objectionable scenes in the movie's promos so that people are already used to it by the time they see the film.

‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ Goes On Air On NDTV Imagine

"Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" went on air Monday on NDTV Imagine and Rakhi's subtle and graceful gestures was a complete contrast to what the audience knows her to be.

From the moment the show began when host, actor Ram Kapoor introduced the concept as well as the bride-to-be to the time when Rakhi herself welcomed 16 prospective grooms to the Fateh Garh Palace in Udaipur.

She was not her usual self despite promising the world that "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" would show her "real" self.

From small-time actors, a police officer, a sales manager, an NRI businessman to engineers, an advocate, a student, a marriage consultant, a stunt artist and even a choreographer, Rakhi has a genre of grooms to choose her partner from. Rakhi will choose her perfect man with the help of viewers.

The 16 grooms, who have come from cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bulandshahr, Hrishikesh, Jaipur, Kanpur and Srinagar and even from far-flung places like Toronto, made every attempt to impress the lady in their unique styles.

While some came with gifts like a wedding dress, a teddy bear, a bangle, etc, a few tried to impress Rakhi with their Urdu couplets (shayari) in the first episode itself.

But the selection of the final candidate will be decided based on many parameters. The contenders will be put through a series of challenges that will test their personality, character, physical fitness, talent and also their compatibility with Rakhi.

All through the series, viewers can help Rakhi decide, by voting for or against the prospective grooms and the final week will present the wedding celebrations.

'Rakhi Ka Swaymamvar' is being telecast every Monday-Friday at 9 pm on NDTV Imagine.
